Standing out among the artists of his generation, Brazilian singer, composer and guitarist FRED MARTINS has created a diverse repertoire that is part of the lineage of iconic Brazilian composers. In a contemporary style, his compositions portray an open conversation between Brazilian music (with multiple nuances) and various musical genres from around the world.

Fred has released 8 albums and 2 DVDs. The most recent – ​​Barbarizando Geral – with percussionist Marcos Suzano – is inspired by the Afro-Brazilian samba universe (among other genres of Brazilian batuque music). The new album, inspired by various aspects of our most recent social life, is now available on digital platforms under the label Biscoito Fino.

His talent was recognized by the prestigious “Prêmio Visa de Música Brasileira” – 9th Edition (winner by unanimous decision of the jury and also by popular vote). His compositions have been performed by renowned Brazilian musicians, including Ney Matogrosso, Adriana Calcanhotto, Zélia Duncan, Maria Rita and MPB4, Renato Braz, among others. His songs have also appeared on the soundtracks of soap operas and series on Rede Globo.

In recent years, Fred Martins has collaborated with many other artists from Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Cape Verde, the United Kingdom and other parts of the world. He has also performed at several international music festivals: Mimo (Portugal), Perugia Jazz, Sicília Jazz Festival (Italy), “Dias da Música”, “Nossa Lisboa” and “Vila Real Summer Festival” (Portugal), “Music of Three Continents” (Russia), “Lula World Festival” (Canada), “Festival TenSamba” (Canary Islands), among other events.
